Get Your MuuMuu On!
My very first fashion blog, naturally, is meant to help us relax. I love style and fashion and color coordinating. It literally brings me peace when even my underwear and bra match. But let’s take a moment here and take off all the fashion pressure. I do NOT agree with culture and the high standards of how a woman should look. Cue basketball buzzer!
A lil’ sunset view
My fashion icons are Meghan Markel, Audrey Hepburn, and whatever country stay-at-home mamma who picks flowers and gathers chickens looks like, but my first idol is my grandma. Every. Single. Day that woman strutted her stuff in a muumuu and slayed her life from these flowing fabrics. I got my first one when I was…you guessed it, 30 years old, and I have not stopped looking for them at goodwill ever since. They are SO amazing.
Many of you might think they are dated but let me just tell you….
The ability to take off those restricting work bras and tight leggings from a workout and slip into the GLORY of a night gown is just as healing as a therapy session. If you have not tried these sensational cotton fabrics, you are totally missing out.
We all know how hard life is. Especially being a woman in a man’s world. The pressure is suffocating some days. But the thought of going home and getting so abundantly naked under one dress is just MAGIC. I’ll be at my desk day dreaming of the moment I get to take it all off at home. lol
So here is my plug. Set aside your image expectations, and fully embrace that 1960’s housewife vibe. Men back then had no issues making 10 kids with these women so there should be no problem with finding a man today who loves you for being comfortable in your own home. I love a good sexy night gown, even if I don’t come home to a man, but 90% of the time, I’m in these oversized stripes and florals.
It might change your life. Just sayin’.
So ditch the oppressive bra’s and free those nipples. Dress for your body and relax your nervous system. You’ll thank me later.
MuuMuu out!
xoxo
